Ford Focus - Complex Geometry Simplified by DPI Ford was using an alternative decorating method on the center bezel of the Focus. The bezel had a demanding design and, if in-mold decorating was going to be employed, the topography of the Class A surface required critical control for film stretch and wall thickness. DPI shared technical advice regarding design capability for in-mold film. Faced with achieving coverage in very critical, tight tolerance areas, we were able to produce the decorated part at a lower cost than the alternative decorating method. Working together with Ford, we were able to solve the complex geometry and save them money.
